This weekend I helped out with a public solar observing session in Confederation Park. We had 3 solar telescopes set up. This was essentially a part of the '
100 hours of Astronomy' for the
IYA. Here is a picture that I was able to get holding my camera up to the Coronado eyepiece. If you look VERY carefully at the top left, you can see some slight prominence. The sun has been going through a very slow cycle the last little while so there isn't much activity to speak of on the surface or on the edge.
